This volume contains seven works Gardner collected and edited, each of them works of 14th century English mystics. The collection originally stems from a 16th century publication of the seven works under the editing of a certain Henry Pepwell, and includes writings from Richard Rolle, Walter Hilton, Julian of Norwich, and Richard of St. Victor.
